Luke 3:15-17 and 21-22

In one of the more memorable sermons of my life, Fred Craddock noted that in Luke’s account, it sounds like Jesus was just one person in a line, baptized by John. “And Jesus also was baptized.” On the one hand, no special treatment, just one more in the line, pushed under the water and sent on his way. But on the other hand, the Child of God, the Beloved. Are we like that, too? And what’s this about fire and winnowing?
