Welcome to Our Sanctuary

Step into the sanctuary at Knox United Church, where history, beauty, and community come together. The moment you enter, you’ll be struck by the openness of the space—a reflection of our commitment to creating a welcoming environment for all. We hold weekly worship services, and our sanctuary is also available for weddings and special events.

Whether you’re here to worship, celebrate, or simply appreciate the beauty of the space, know that all are welcome and invited to come as they are. Our sanctuary offers a sacred connection that resonates with everyone who enters.

Open Space

We invite you to explore our sanctuary during the week. The church is open to visitors from Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 2 PM, though occasionally it may be closed for special events. A volunteer host is available in the sanctuary on Thursdays from 11 AM to 2 PM (and often at other times).

Our 4th Avenue doors to the Knox Center are open any day that our office is, and the sanctuary can be reached through this entrance.

On days when a host is on site, enter through the 6th Avenue doors to chat with our host, pick up a self-guided walking tour, or simply enjoy a few quiet minutes of prayer and reflection.

For current availability and to confirm our open hours, please contact the church office.

Vibrant Place

Our sanctuary is adorned with vibrant stained glass windows, each telling a story through the interplay of light and colour. These windows are more than decoration; they are a testament to our faith, casting a warm and inviting glow that enhances the spiritual atmosphere.

At the heart of our sanctuary is the magnificent Casavant pipe organ, an instrument of remarkable power and grace. With its rich, resonant tones, the organ adds depth and emotion to our worship services, and special events.

The architecture of Knox United Church is steeped in history, showcasing a timeless design that reflects the enduring legacy of our community. As you look around, you’ll notice the careful craftsmanship and thoughtful details that have been lovingly preserved over the years, each element telling a story of faith and tradition.

Sacred Connections

At the back of our sanctuary, you’ll find our welcoming coffee bar—a gathering spot where congregants can enjoy coffee and snacks after church services. This area is designed to foster community and connection, providing a warm and inviting space for conversation and fellowship.

During special events and concerts, the coffee bar transforms into our concession stand, offering a selection of refreshments to enhance your experience.

Whether you're catching up with friends or attending one of our many events, this space is here to serve you with comfort and care.
