Yoga in the Sanctuary

With Melanie Batycky

Join our Monday evening gentle style yoga set inside the beautiful, historic, Knox United Church.

The one hour yoga class will leave you feeling, energized, refreshed and relaxed.  Best of all… it’s now FREE!

Releasing stress in the body through the practice of yoga brings about a feeling of lightness and inner peace.   The foundational poses of hatha yoga are safely and thoroughly introduced so that students can improve in mobility, strength, and flexibility  creating an openness in the body and a greater sense of well-being.  Each class is 60 minutes in duration, and ends with a beautiful savasana, or relaxation.  Be prepared to leave class with a deep inner bliss!

Melanie Batycky began teaching yoga after dancing professionally with The San Francisco Ballet, Lines Ballet of San Francisco, and The Alberta Ballet.   She currently holds holds her Level 1 Iyengar yoga certification.  It is the depth of yoga that keeps her constantly searching and learning.  She is truly grateful to have found yoga and loves sharing what she has learned, and continues to learn with her students.  "The physical practice is really only part of truly knowing yoga.  The philosophy of yoga can be practiced in each interaction in our lives, and actually lived.  When we see ourselves and others as kind, loving, honest, authentic, and constantly turn our lives over to the higher power that is within each of us, that is when our lives change."

Melanie also teaches yoga at The Yoga Sarana, and Calgary Iyengar Yoga
